Operating Requirements

100psi (7 BAR) air pressure is required for the maximum 5 ton potential.  The pump can operate at a minimum of 40psi (9 BAR), however the PitBull Stone Chiseler will only be able to deliver 2 tons of force at that pressure.

Air compressor CFM (size of compressor) is not so important for the PitBull's operation. The PA9 hydraulic pump is capable of operating a range of hydraulic cylinders, including large 100 ton units, however the PitBull Stone Chiseler only uses a small bore 5 ton piston. The air supply only needs enough volume to be able to keep the air pressure up at the rate you wish to work. Harder stone will need more tonnage (more psi) to chisel. The more CFM your air compressor puts out, the faster you will be able to cycle any air driven hydraulic pump resulting in faster work up to a limit.
